An asteroid is heading our way, and it’s a big one. Asteroid (357439) 2004 BL86 is a near-Earth asteroid estimated to be 440–1000 meters in diameter that will pass 3.1 lunar distances (1.2 million km) from Earth on 26-27 January 2015. Don’t panic. There is no possibility of a collision, but — as it will be as bright as mag 8.8 – 9.5, it should be visible with small telescopes or binoculars
